AUSTIN, AR – A truck that was reported stolen in White County has been recovered in Lonoke County.
The Austin Police Department says around 11:45 Wednesday night it was notified of a stolen black 2006 Chevrolet truck which may have been headed south on Highway 67/167.
A short time later, an Austin patrol officer spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop. Officers with the Arkansas State Police and Ward Police Department also responded to the scene.
The man driving the vehicle was identified as Tarus Chambers, 34, of Pine Bluff. He was taken into custody by State Police and the vehicle was returned to the owner.
Austin Police say Chambers was also found to have a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding arrest warrant from the Pine Bluff Police Department.
