Two High School Grads Murdered

DUMAS, AR — Two recent high school graduates and former athletes were gunned down Thursday in Dumas.

“I can’t do this. Mike calls and texts me. It’s not like him to not call and text me because Mike does this all day long,” said Korea Myles, girlfriend of one of the victims, Michael Reeves Jr.

Myles said she knew something was wrong when Reeves did not contact her.

Dumas Police said when they responded to 32-year-old Vernyell Mosby’s home around 9:00 that evening, they found the reason why.

Their bodies, according to police, were rolled up in carpet on the kitchen floor.

Myles said she broke up with Mosby several weeks ago and the father of two was jealous of her and Reeves’ new relationship.

Mosby remains in Dumas city jail. As he awaits a court hearing for two counts of capital murder, Myles says she’s waiting too, waiting to find a way to explain to her and Mosby’s two kids why they can’t see their dad.

“We haven’t even talked to the kids and told the kids yet and my kids keep asking if they can can come over to their dad’s house,” said Myles.
