CONWAY, Ark. – On an early August morning in 2016, 50-year-old Terry Credit, of Conway, was found shot to death in the front doorway of his home — leaving a wife, kids and an extended, tight-knit family reeling for answers.

“He meant a lot to the whole family and ever since he’s been gone it just doesn’t feel the same,” his daughter, Cynsere, said.

Seven months after Terry’s death, his family, the surrounding community and law enforcement officials are still dealing with many unsolved questions, fighting for the answers that they hope lead to justice for Terry.

But police say they have no leads or suspects in the case…

“We come to the cemetery everyday to just talk to him and visit him and cry,” Terry’s sister, Victoria Credit, said.

Early Wednesday morning, August 17, around 2:30 a.m., police were called to Oakwood Village trailer park on East Robins Street. The property sits northeast of the Harkrider Street and Dave Ward Drive intersection.

When officers arrived, they found an open door at Trailer 16, Terry’s home, and saw him laying in the doorway. He had been shot to death.

Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and seeing “several people” get into a dark colored car. They said the car full of people left the area shortly after the shots were fired.

Police hit a road block when the witnesses could neither provide a good description of the car nor the passengers in the car.

Since then, it seems police have not been able to get past that road block, as no arrests have been made and no suspects identified.

Terry’s obituary says he left behind a host of relatives and friends, including his wife, Diane Credit; his parents, Charles and Essie Credit; his daughter, Cynsere Ryan; his son, Zykee Cooper; and his seven siblings (one brother and six sisters).

“When she gets married, he can’t walk her down the aisle. He won’t be able to see her graduate. And anything she does right now, he’s not here to share that with her,” Terry’s sister, Victoria, said, of his daughter, Cynsere.

If anyone has any information that could help bring Victory Over Violence in Terry’s death, Central Arkansas Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
