Update: Arrest Made After Motorcycle Officer Injured in Hit and Run

Update (5:00 p.m.):
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Little Rock police have made an arrest in the crash that injured a motorcycle officer Thursday afternoon.

Willie Houston III, 45, is charged with felony hit and run, driving without a driver’s license, and running a red light.

LRPD says Officer Steve Pledger has been released from the hospital.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) motorcycle officer injured in a hit and run Thursday afternoon has been identified.

Officer Steve Pledger is a 31-year veteran of the force, and has been a part of the Motors unit for 23 years.

The extent of his injuries have not yet been released but he was last reported in stable condition and an LRPD spokesman said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officer Pledger was hit on 9th Street near the intersection with Interstate 30.

Police are looking for a 60’s model red 2-door Oldsmobile with antique car tags in the incident.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A hit and run has left a local police officer injured.

It happened early Thursday afternoon on 9th Street near the intersection with Interstate 30.

There is no word on the extent of the officer’s injuries but police say he was conscious and alert. He is being treated in a Little Rock hospital.

Police say they are looking for a 2-door 1965 Oldsmobile that had an antique license plate and was being driven by a black man in his 20’s.
