KIRBY, AR – An 88-year-old man charged with hitting and killing a 12-year-old girl who was getting off the school bus has entered a guilty plea in the case.
Jazmin Hernandez, a seventh grader in the Kirby School District, was hit in October when the bus stopped at her home along Highway 70 near 84 in Pike County.
Dwight Moody was sentenced to one year probation, a $2,500 fine and had to give up his driver’s license for life.
After the trial the Hernandez family requested that Moody not serve any jail time because they know he did not mean to kill their daughter.
