Update (August 5):
BUFFALO, MO – Officials in Dallas County, Missouri say there have been multiple burglaries in the area where they believe an Arkansas jail escapee has been in recent days.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office received word this weekend that Garland County Detention Center escapee Derrick Estell was believed to be in the area of rural Buffalo and Long Lane, Missouri, along the Niangua River, with his girlfriend Tamara Upshaw.
As of Sunday night, there had been three burglaries in the area.
In one of them, a .22 caliber rifle was stolen, along with ammunition. A 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck was also taken. The vehicle is described as having an aluminum diamond-plated bed mounted tool box. It also has damage to the driver’s side front fender near the headlight and to the tailgate.
Estell, 33, and Upshaw, 25, are both persons of interest in these crimes.
Law enforcement officers in Arkansas say Estell should be considered armed and “extremely dangerous.”
The location of the pair is not known at this time.
Estell escaped from the jail located in Hot Springs on July 28 and is facing charges of aggravated robbery, burglary, theft and other charges.
