PINE BLUFF, AR – A local woman has died after being found shot in the front yard of a home.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 7 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of W. 29th Street.
The victim is identified as LaRonda McElroy, 28. She was pronounced dead after being taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
A news release issued by Pine Bluff Police says according to witnesses, McElroy had been in an altercation with her boyfriend, Chris Fletcher, 38 (see photo). During the altercation, police say Fletcher shot McElroy twice.
He is described as 6’2” tall, weighs about 220 pounds and has gold front teeth. He is possibly driving a 2000 model gold Ford Mustang with a black convertible top and an off colored bumper. Fletcher could be trying to get to California where he has family, police say.
