UPDATE:

BOONE COUNTY, AR — A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a Boone County murder. 

Detectives continue to investigate the murder of a Harrison business woman.

The body of Adah Lorraine Carte was found at her store located in the Bear Creek Springs community Thursday.

The man in the images taken at Ozark Emporium Friday was identified as Donald C. Biles.

He was arrested around 3 p.m. during a traffic stop and is currently being held — without bail — in the Boone County jail.


BOONE COUNTY, AR –Responding officers discovered the body of the business owner identified as 75-year-old Adah Lorraine Carte Thursday night, a search is underway for the person responsible for her death.

Friday afternoon, State Police reported taking an unidentified man into custody for questioning.

Earlier they had released a photo of a man and a van possibly connected to the death.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a welfare check of a local shop owner at Bear Creek Springs just north of Harrison, according to Sheriff Mike Moore.

The case is being treated as a homicide and is being worked by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police.
