Update: Man Jailed after Bryant to Little Rock Police Chase

Update (4:45 p.m.):
LITTLE ROCK, AR – A local man is jailed after being arrested at the scene of a police chase.

Jalen Jaquan Davis, 20, of Little Rock, faces a string of charges in the Friday morning incident that began in Bryant and ended in the capital city.

On Friday afternoon, the Bryant Police Department (BPD) sent a news release with details about what happened.

The BPD says the chase started around 7:40 a.m. when a Bryant officer tried to make a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry on Reynolds Road just in front of the Mapco gas station.

When the driver kept going, the pursuit continued east on Interstate 30.

Police say at times the vehicle drove on the shoulder of the road trying to get away.
Troopers with the Arkansas State Police joined the chase and just before the Interstate 440 interchange, they used a pit maneuver that caused the suspect’s vehicle to spin out and bring the chase to an end.

All four people in the car were taken into custody but only the driver was charged. Three women passengers were taken to the BPD for questioning and released without charges.

Davis is charged with Fleeing, Reckless Driving, Driving on Suspended License and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
