SEARCY, AR – ATF Agents release more information on the investigation into Searcy’s now former Police Chief, Jeremy Clark.
An ATF spokesman released this statement:
“March 2014, Jeremy Clark’s house burned down. Clark says it’s his grandmother’s house, but it’s in his name. When State Police investigated the case, they ruled it as Arson and contacted ATF.
As agents were investigating that crime, evidence was detected pertaining to federal firearm violations, controlled substance laws violations and abuse of power allegations against Jeremy Clark.
As ATF agents continued to investigate, recent developments yielded more evidence. As a result of interviews with dozens of witnesses and information gathered over the past year, ATF agents obtained a federal search warrant for Clark’s home and his city owned vehicle.
In addition, the Chief’s office at the Searcy Police Department was also searched.
The City of Searcy has cooperated fully from this investigation and they continue to cooperate as this investigation is still ongoing.
All evidence obtained will be sent to U.S. Attorney’s Office for consideration of prosecution.“

SEARCY, AR – New details today from the Searcy mayor in the search of the now former police chief’s home on Tuesday.
Mayor David Morris says agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) served a search warrant on Tuesday morning to search a city office and a city vehicle as part of the investigation into Jeremy Clark, who resigned as police chief later in the afternoon.

SEARCY, AR – The chief of police for the Searcy Police Department has resigned.
Jeremy Clark made the announcement late Tuesday afternoon.
He said it was effective immediately.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – A federal agency searched the home of the Searcy police chief today.A spokesman with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) told FOX16 that a search warrant was executed at the home of Jeremy Clark.
Clark has not been arrested in the case.
Chief Clark spoke with FOX16’s Brittney Johnson and says that the ATF is investigating him for a fire that happened at his grandmother’s home, which was listed under his name.
He also said that ATF investigators took his phone and computer during the search and that the investigation is not related to the Searcy Police Department
Chief Clark says he has cooperated with the ATF in the arson investigation.
