LITTLE ROCK, AR – The lawyer of a pastor accused of sexually abusing a woman says they plan to respond to the allegations.

Jennifer Richardson spoke exclusively to Fox 16’s Donna Terrell. She is suing Apostle Lawrence Braggs–head of Awareness Center International also known as Trumpet in Zion in Little Rock.

Richardson’s lawsuit states Braggs discussed how God ordained “chosen people” for special relationships. She said he used her deep-seeded religious convictions to convince her their sexual relationship was building a “covenant.”

“The person he showed me was the person I thought would only want the best for me and my family, that would look out for my best interest, that would never do anything to harm me. So when he’s telling me God is telling him certain things and this is the direction he’s getting from God, I believed that,” said Richardson.

Braggs’ lawyer said his client had no comment at this time and they plan to file a legal response to Richardson’s.
