MALVERN, AR – Police have arresed a suspect who is accused in the shooting death of a 33-year-old Malvern man at the victim’s home.
According to Malvern Police, 24-year-old Cornell Jasper Huell faces capital murder, criminal attempt of capital murder and aggravated residential burglary.
Witnesses say three young children were home at the time the night of February 16 when Jason Stovall was killed.
Huell is being held on a $250,000 bond and is also wanted out of Texas.

“On February 16, 2015, officers from the Malvern Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Locust Street to investigate a home invasion in which two victims had been shot. The Malvern Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, along with Arkansas State Police investigators, responded to the scene and began their investigation. During the investigation, officers identified Cornell Jasper Huell as one of the suspects. On March 9, 2015, Huell was arrested and booked into jail. Huell, 24, of Malvern, is being charged with Capital Murder, Criminal Attempt Capital Murder and Aggravated Residential Burglary. The suspect is being held on a $250,000 cash or professional bond. He is also being held on a felony warrant out of Texas for Aggravated Assault with an $800,000 bond. The investigation into this case is still ongoing and further arrests are imminent.”

MALVERN, AR – Monday (2/17) night Malvern Police found one man dead and his girlfriend critically injured inside their home on the 1400 Block of Locust Street.

MALVERN, AR – Monday (2/17) night Malvern Police found one man dead and his girlfriend critically injured inside their home on the 1400 Block of Locust Street.
According to his family, Jason Stovall, 33, was killed instantly.
“Kind of devastating you know?” asked Stovall’s brother, Mike “Big Mike” Stovall.
He says Jason’s girlfriend, Heather Darter was also shot.
“In the face and it lodged in her neck,” Stovall pointed out.
Police called her wound a critical but non-life threatening injury. Family members tell us she’s recovering at UAMS.
Her three small children were home at the time but weren’t hurt. One of them called police.
Stovall remarked, “A seven-year-old had enough sense to call 911 when she saw her mother shot.”
He says the children were in a back room when someone walked through the front door and shot both adults.
He said, “It was not a break-in or a burglary because all the money was still there. All of his money was laying on the table. Credit cards, wallets.”
As Malvern Police continue the investigation the family hopes something breaks in the case.
“They’re gonna find who did this,” Stovall continued. “Someone’s gonna find — hopefully the police will before anyone else does.”
