ROGERS, AR – Arkansas’ junior U.S. senator is recovering from emergency heart surgery.
WASHINGTON, DC (News release) – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) is in recovery following heart surgery in Rogers, Arkansas.
Boozman, 63, was taken to the hospital overnight after suffering from pain in his chest and arm. After running several tests doctors admitted Boozman and performed heart surgery today.
Doctors say he responded well to the surgery and are monitoring his recovery. Boozman’s family has visited with him and is hopeful for a full recovery. The family is appreciative of the thoughts and prayers from well-wishers.

ROGERS, AR – Arkansas’ junior U.S. senator is recovering from emergency heart surgery.
Sen. John Boozman, 63, had the operation this morning, according to his office staff.
The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal reports that Boozman was taken to the Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas emergency room by ambulance.
Boozman was scheduled to speak this morning in Gravette to commemorate the opening of the first stretch of the Bella Vista Bypass.
The journal says a source told them the surgery was uneventful and Boozman is expected to make a full recovery.
Boozman’s office sent the following statement this morning:

U.S. Senator Mark Pryor today released the following statement regarding news of Senator John Boozman’s surgery:
“I’m fortunate to call Senator Boozman a good friend and trusted colleague. Today, I lift up his wife, Cathy, his three daughters, and their family and friends in prayer. On behalf of all Arkansans, I’d like to wish Senator Boozman a speedy recovery.”
