Update (11:45 p.m.):
LITTLE ROCK, AR – There is new information regarding a Tuesday night officer involved shooting in Cabot.
Dina Tyler with Arkansas Department of Community Corrections says the individual who died in the shoot out was 35-year-old Jonathon McIntosh who has been a parolee since September 2014.
Tyler says that when officers were questioning McIntosh at a home on East Main Street they found drugs in his possession, so he was then cuffed and put in a patrol car.
Officers went back inside the home to continue investigating, and when they returned to the the car they discovered McIntosh had moved his handcuffed arms to the front of his body and was holding a pistol.
McIntosh began to shoot at officers, who returned fire and hit him multiple times.
He later died in surgery at a local hospital.
Authorities are still trying to determine how McIntosh got the gun.

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Arkansas State Police (ASP) says a Tuesday night shooting in Cabot was officer-involved.
In a news release issued Wednesday morning, the ASP said the incident occurred as authorities of the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas Department of Community Correction (ADCC) were searching for an individual.
While questioning a 35-year-old man at 905 East Main Street, officers discovered the man had outstanding arrest warrants and placed him into custody inside a law enforcement vehicle.
Initial statements provided to Special Agents of the State Police Criminal Investigation Division indicate the local law enforcement officers and ADCC officers reported gunshots coming from inside the car and returned fire, striking the individual who had moments earlier been taken into custody.
The wounded man died after being taken to the hospital.
The identity of the individual is being withheld pending confirmed notification of next of kin.
No law enforcement or ADCC personnel were injured.
State Police Special Agents along with State Police Highway Patrol Troopers have worked through the evening into the early hours of Wednesday gathering evidence and questioning witnesses.
The investigation is continuing and upon completion will be provided to the Lonoke County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration of any charges.
