Victims Killed in Howard County Storm Identified

NASHVILLE, AR – The names have been released of the victims killed in a confirmed tornado* late Sunday night at a mobile home park in Howard County.

They are identified as Michael and Melissa Mooneyhan, husband and wife, in their late 20s/early 30s.

Their home was flipped over and destroyed in the storm.  

The Mooneyhan’s 18-month-old daughter was also in the mobile home but was not hurt. Neighbors have told us her parents were shielding her from the storm. 

An account has been set up at Diamond Bank in Nashville to help pay for funeral expenses of tornado victims.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport reported shortly after 2 a.m. Monday that the possible tornado had struck in Nashville (Howard County) at 11:20 p.m. Sunday.

There had been a tornado warning in the area.

The storm also downed trees and power lines.

Two other people were reported to have been critically injured in the storm.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management reports storm damage in the following other counties:
  • Pike County near Murfreesboro, a home and church were damaged
  • Sevier County, two homes were damaged in possible tornado and the emergency dispatch center in De Queen was struck by lightning.
  • Clark County, 4 miles east of Hollywood, a number of trees reported blown down across the county
