PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – A man wanted by three Central Arkansas law enforcement agencies is in jail after authorities say he ran from a traffic stop.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) says Adam Lee Caldwell, 38, of North Little Rock surrendered around 11:30 Tuesday morning after falling down as he tried to get away in the 18000 block of MacArthur Drive, just off Interstate 40.

Caldwell had been a passenger in a vehicle the deputy pulled over for a minor violation. While the deputy was talking to the driver, Caldwell got out of the car and took off.

The deputy chased after Caldwell, who kept running after being ordered to stop. The PCSO says the foot chase began in the parking lot of a Crow-Burlingame auto parts store and continued behind the business. The man then ran on towards Smalling Road before crossing over to MacArthur Drive and heading south. As he ran behind the I-40 Diner, Caldwell fell down in some bushes, put his hands up to surrender and was arrested.

Officials say it was later learned that Caldwell had felony warrants from the PCSO, White County Sheriff’s Office and the Maumelle Police Department. He also had parole warrants out for his arrest, the sheriff’s office said.

Caldwell is jailed on charges that include fleeing, theft of property and forgery.

The driver of the car was released.
