LITTLE ROCK, AR – A charter bus carrying students from a Sherwood Middle School in Memphis on a field trip caught fire after experiencing mechanical issues Friday morning.
The bus was traveling westbound on I-40 between Memphis and Little Rock on its way to Magic Springs when it caught fire.
All of the students were taken off of the bus and nobody was injured.
A new bus was driven to pick up the students, and are now returning to Memphis.
The bus that caught fire is with Prime Time Tours and is on an approved list of vendors for Shelby County Schools.
