WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump held a news conference Wednesday after the midterm elections, and ended up asking Vice President Mike Pence to be his running mate in 2020.
Our Washington DC correspondent Mark Meredith asked President Trump about his plan for his 2020 re-election bid.
“Do you want to lock down your ticket for 2020 right now?” Meredith asked.
“Well I haven’t asked him..but I hope so,” President Trump replied. “Mike…will you be my running mate? Will you? Stand up Mike, raise your right hand!”
The president said during the news conference that despite Republicans losing control of the House, it was “very close to a complete victory.”
