LITTLE ROCK, AR – The National Weather Service (NWS) is giving Arkansans an idea of what to expect from the winter storm moving into the state on Wednesday.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for much of Arkansas tomorrow.
The NWS says rain is expected to change over to a wintry mix of sleet and mostly snow across the northern and northeastern areas during the morning Wednesday. As much as four to six inches of snow will fall through the day and into the evening.
Meanwhile, central areas are expected to pick up around a tenth of an inch or less of ice, followed by two to four inches of sleet and snow.
Southern Arkansas could get up to a quarter of an inch of ice, with far southeastern areas picking up between a quarter of an inch to a half an inch of ice. Sleet and snow amounts of up to two inches could occur.

Travel will become hazardous through the day Wednesday as roadways become covered with the wintry mix. Gusty north winds of 20 to 30 mph will be in place Wednesday afternoon and could bring down trees or power lines that become snow and ice covered, especially in Southeastern Arkansas.
