Wild River Country Cancels Future “Adult Nights”

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR — A Central Arkansas water park has been forced to cancel a popular event meant for adults because of reckless behavior from some guests.

“A few of the guests decided to ruin it for everyone,” said Wild River Country General Manager, Chris Shillcut.

The park opened its doors Saturday night to those 21 or older for a special event called “Adult Night.”

There were 1,500 tickets available for purchase and the popular event had hundreds of guests flooding the entrance.

“About 6:15 p.m. a line started forming,” said Shillcut.

Around 7 p.m. some guests began to act reckless.

Along with a fist-fight, management said someone stole 150 entrance tickets from a teenage cashier.

“They reached through the window and grabbed a whole handful bundle of tickets,” said Shillcut.

Other guests began scaling the fence.

There is no reported damage to the water park.

Park officials say although the event was fun in the past they just don’t think they can have it anymore.

“We had three last year and they were a success. Unfortunately, just like any situation, the few ruined it for everybody,” said Shillcut.

Staff said they had to work through the night to get the park cleaned up for Father’s Day.

As for the ticket theft, the North Little Rock Police Department is investigating.
