HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Police in Hot Springs are looking for a man who sexually assaulted two women.

Police say it happened yesterday on the Greenway Trail.

We spoke to many people today who said they bring their kids to Greenway Trail and they walk up and down the trail several times a week. Hearing what happened to the two women yesterday left many in shock.

The Hollywood Park in Hot Springs. Crystal Baird and Stacey Jones come out to the Greenway trail three times a week.

“It’s just pretty, we always see different things,” said Baird. “It’s a great place to walk because it’s shaded.”

But on Sunday the popular trail turned into a nightmare for two women. Hot Springs police say they were sexually assaulted by the same man.

A woman told police that a man tried to force himself on her. During the struggle, the woman was knocked to the ground and hurt. That same day, another woman told police the same guy touched her inappropriately.

“I was very very shocked to hear that because this is the time we usually come and we’ve never seen any suspicious activity or anything,” said Baird.

Jones said, “Well sometimes when I do walk I feel a little nervous because there are not people around so I’m always looking to the side and the back.”

A scary encounter that has people looking out for their surroundings.

“Well today, I brought this whistle it’s supposed to be heard up to two miles away,” said Bairds.

It changes up Bairds walking routine. “I had not taken this with me before so it’s a precaution I brought this today,” said Bairds.

But the incident won’t stop her from coming to the park. She says she just won’t be coming by herself.

Hot Springs Police say the suspect is a man in his 20s to 30s, about 6 feet tall wearing a white shirt and a white mask.

Police say they’re going to be patrolling the area a lot more.
