ARKADELPHIA, AR – Henderson State wide receiver Robert Jordan and kick returner Corey Chappell were named Great American Conference Players of the Week.

Jordan earned the GAC Offensive honor after having four catches for 90 yards and three touchdowns in Henderson’s 45-30 win over Harding.  Jordan had touchdown receptions of 23, 32 and 11 yards.

The all-time leading receiver in the Great American Conference and at Henderson State had his collegiate career come to an abrupt end when he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula on an 11-yard touchdown reception early in the third quarter.

In his three years at Henderson, the Miami, Fla. product played 29 games and totaled 147 receptions for 2,186 yards.  Jordan ranks second in HSU history in career receiving touchdowns with 20.

Chappell earned Special Teams honors when he set a GAC and Henderson State record returning a kickoff 100 yards midway through the second quarter.

The sophomore from Rowlett, Texas has returned 11 kickoffs and is averaging 29.7 yards per return this season.
