CONWAY, AR – University of Central Arkansas Coach Russ Pennell has added one final piece to his first recruiting class with the addition of forward/center Albert Christensson.

Christensson, a 6-foot-9, 220-pounder from Lund, Sweden, played last season at South Kent Prep in South Kent, Conn.

“Albert is a very talented young man,’ said Pennell, who took over the UCA program in March. “He brings size at 6-9, athletic ability and great fundamentals to our team. His international experience and playing at South Kent Prep puts him ahead of the curve for most freshmen.

“Albert also brings an exceptional academic record with him, sporting a 3.9 grade-point average. We are thrilled to have such a fine young man join our basketball family. I believe UCA is getting a winner in Albert.’

The signing of Christensson brings UCA’s total number of newcomers to 12 and the roster total to 13 with returning sophomore Ethan Lee.

“I feel really good about the young men we’ve brought in, both on the court and off,’ said Pennell. “I think it’s a very talented group with a lot of versatility. The addition of Albert gives us four players at 6-8 or taller, so I really like the size of this team.’”
