FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas returns to the field for the first time since spring when it opens spring practice on Thursday.
The Razorbacks, who were 11-2 and won the Cotton Bowl over Kansas State last season, feel like they have plenty to prove following former coach Bobby Petrino’s firing in April and the hiring of John L. Smith as his replacement.
First-team All-Southeastern Conference quarterback Tyler Wilson and running back Knile Davis return to lead Arkansas this season. Both bypassed the NFL draft in January, making their decisions together with hopes of winning SEC and national championships.
The Razorbacks open their season at home against Jacksonville State on Sept. 1.
