The University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees Approved the naming of the court at Bud Walton Arena to Nolan Richardson Court with a unanimous vote on Thursday morning in Hot Springs.
A hot topic for several weeks led to the board’s decision to vote on the measure honoring the legendary Hall of Fame coach. Richardson led the Razorbacks to the schools only National Championship in basketball in 1994 beating Duke 76-72 in Charlotte.
The official naming will take place during the 2019-20 season in a ceremony inside Bud Walton Arena.
