LITTLE ROCK — Jaire Grayer (6-5 wing, George Mason) is finally making it to Arkansas as he will take his official visit tomorrow (Sunday) through Tuesday.
Grayer had orignally planned a visit to Arkansas on April 22, then he re-scheduled for April 29, before finalizing his trip for mid-May.
“I will be there tomorrow,” Grayer said Saturday night. “I leave Tuesday.”
Grayer recently talked about his interest in playing for Musselman and the Hogs.
“It just seems like a great opportunity for me,” Grayer said. “I like what Coach Muss has to bring as a coach.”
Grayer entered his name in the transfer portal at the end of the 2018-19 season. He averaged 8.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per outing while shooting 40.5% from 3 through eight games played in what began as his senior campaign at George Mason — a season that ended abruptly with a foot injury that has led him to seek a medical waiver and a subsequent extra year of eligibility in ’19-20.
In parts of four seasons combined at George Mason, Grayer averaged a combined 11.0 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 35% from 3.
His father, Jeff Grayer, was an NBA journeyman for roughly a decade (late 1980s to late 1990s).
“My Dad and my Mom have helped me develop as a player ever since I was a kid,” Jaire Grayer said recently. “Been right there teaching me the ins and outs of the game.”
