Jacksonville Class of 2021 defensive tackle Tyas Martin was among the linemen who participated in Arkansas’ linemen camp this past Friday.
Following the camp, Martin talked about how he felt it went for him.
“It was a good camp overall,” Martin said. “I learned a lot of stuff to take back to my home in Jacksonville. They have great coaching here.”
Martin talked about the things that he learned from the Arkansas coaches.
“I learned how to use my hips more, hands,” Martin said. “Quick feet and all that.”
As he prepares for his junior season, Martin talked about what he feels are his strengths and also things he needs to work on the most.
“I have been working on my conditioning lately slimming down a bit getting more quick right now,” Martin said. “I feel my strength is my strength.”
What was the highlight of the camp?
“My pass rush,” Martin said. “I got way better with my pass rush…my hips and hands.”
Martin was seen by Arkansas’ coaches at a football camp at Memphis the previous Sunday. Being seen twice by the Arkansas coaches in a week do you feel maybe you made a good impression on them?
“Yes sir,” Martin said. “I love Arkansas.”
What would it mean to you to get an offer from the Razorbacks?
“It would mean a lot,” Martin said. “Coming from Arkansas and being born down here.”
Martin talked about the feedback he got from the coaches at Arkansas during the camp.
“I did good,” Martin said. “Just slim down and get quicker.”

Martin is currently 6-foot-3, 320-pounds. As a sophomore, Martin had 65 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, five tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries.
