LITTLE ROCK, AR – Daniel Green, a 6-10, 240-pound forward who began his college basketball career at Wake Forest, has announced he will transfer to UALR for his senior season. Green becomes the fifth member of head coach Chris Beard’s first recruiting class.
Green chose UALR after receiving interest from Charlotte, Oral Roberts, Rice, Illinois State and Cleveland State.
Green played in four games for the Demon Deacons as a redshirt junior in 2014-15 after being limited the previous two seasons due to injury.
As a freshman in 2011-12, he appeared in 27 games – including 14 ACC contests – while grabbing 45 total rebounds. He totaled career highs with six points and six rebounds in Wake Forest’s opener vs. Loyola Maryland in Nov. 2011. He scored five points and grabbed four rebounds vs. Boston College in Feb. 2012.
A 2011 graduate of Grapevine High School in Grapevine, Texas, Green was a 2011 McDonald’s All-America nominee and rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com. He was named First Team All-District 6-5A as a senior.
As a junior at Grapevine, he averaged 8.3 points and 8.1 rebounds and earned Honorable Mention All-District honors.
Off the court, Green was a First Team Academic All-District selection as a senior and was named a Texas Scholar for his work in the classroom.
