Monday, 10 PM Update:

Tropical Depression Cristobal moved into Southern Arkansas Monday afternoon, and continues to move Northward through the State tonight. As of 10PM the center is over Central Arkansas with the heavy rain mainly across Northern Arkansas. Strongest winds associated with the system, near 30 MPH, are mainly located across Northeast Arkansas well away from the center.

The system will move Northward across the State during the overnight hours, then out of Arkansas into Missouri by early tomorrow morning. Rainfall amounts of 1 to locally over 3 inches have reported across parts of Central and Southern Arkansas since this morning.

Additional rainfall across Central and Southern Arkansas will be less than quarter inch, but some additional amounts of over an inch possible North.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 7 AM.

Gusty winds will accompany the band of rain with wind gusts locally to 35 MPH through this evening. The severe weather threat is low, but a brief isolated tornado is possible on the East side of the circulation, mainly East of the Mississippi River.
