LITTLE ROCK, AR – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. for most of Arkansas.

The National Weather Service says a mixture of sleet and freezing rain will continue across the state today. As the system leaves the Arkansas this afternoon, there may be a brief period of snow.

The impacted areas include central and south central Arkansas (including the Arkansas River Valley, I-40 corridors and the Ouachita Mountains).

Sleet accumulations are expected between one to two inches.

Ice accumulations are expected between one quarter and one half of an inch with locally higher amounts areas east of Little Rock.

With accumulating sleet and freezing rain across the state, travel has been difficult.

Ice accumulations on trees and power lines has led to power outages for thousands across Arkansas.

The attached videos show salt trucks working early Monday morning on I-630 in Little Rock, sleet falling at I-30 & 6th Street in downtown Little Rock before dawn today and winter weather falling in Batesville in the early morning hours.
