Brief Snow Thursday Morning, Little Accumulations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Rain briefly changed to some snow across parts of Arkansas with some minor accumulations on grassy surfaces.

North Little Rock recorded 0.3″ of snow, although Little Rock only measured a trace of snow at the airport. This means the streak of no measurable snowfall in Little Rock is still officially alive at 464 days and counting. The last measurable snowfall in Little Rock was November 14th 2018.

Other parts of Northern Arkansas received a dusting to a few tenths of an inch higher elevations.

Temperatures stayed mainly above freezing this morning, with wet roads and little travel impacts.

All precipitation has moved out of Arkansas with clear and cold conditions tonight with lows dropping into the 20s.

A wave of low pressure moving along a stalled front to our South brings some rain back into Arkansas late tonight into Thursday morning. Rain will change to some snow across parts of Northern Arkansas and may even mix in with the rain in Central Arkansas as well.

Precipitation will be mainly light and temperatures near or above freezing Thursday morning, which limit the potential for accumulations. Little or no accumulation is expected for Central Arkansas at this point, although some minor accumulations of less than an inch possible higher elevations North. Rain will be heavier South, but no Wintry mix is expected for the Southern half of the State.

No significant travel problems are expected in Arkansas Thursday morning, but roads will likely be wet for the morning commute.
